I have great friends & the people in my life are so generous.

Last Sunday, Matthew, Andrew, Jacob, Maria, Sarah & I {finally} got together & partied! I love each of them so very much and can't imagine a life without them. After work at 2:00, the boys met up with Mom & I & we all went boating/tubing on LKN with Aunt B, Uncle J, & Ems. It was the perfect day for that sort of thing.

By 6:00. . . we all met up, ate Mexican food {and shared adjectives}, drove/climbed/walked around Concord, NC, & ended the night in Matthew's pool! Sad to think I will not see these people as much as I'd like to this summer.

It has been difficult for me to think of the positive aspects of next year. . . I'm really sad S & M are leaving me for more exciting things, but I have finally come to realize life's gonna be good next year!

Elisabeth left this morning for Peru also . . . I tried to convince her all night last night to go meet up with Kelsey and have her engagement photos taken on top of Machu Picchu, but who knows what might happen!

So here I am at Mainstreet Books, spending my time gazing out the window at the lovely sky, reading Jesus in the Lotus, and eating lots of fresh fruit. Have to work until 5:00. This day has been pretty close to perfect; early morning run, took care of someone's cats, yoga, walk to work, make money, read, then go out to dinner.

I know that I say this every year, but c'est vrai, this year has gone by way too fast. Monday morning I took my first AP exam of the year and have two more to look forward to on Thursday and Friday. All that procrastinating. . . all those early mornings. . . and all those prayers just to make it through! Simply can't believe my SUMMER starts so soon. If I end up going to Denver, as originally planned, I'll be jetting off the last week of this month (crazy!). From there it looks like a few weeks in Denver, just chilling with some awesome people, then off to India. All I have to do is make it through Friday then I can relax and officially think through my summer plans.

Other things on my mind:

A comes home tomorrow then K the day after!
Mom planted a garden, it looks a bit ridiculous now, but I believe in the cause.
Yoga (no surprise!) is a constant inspiration

My head is so tired of thinking. I have so many decisions to make and, as always, so much work to do. The one major decision right now involves summer plans. I met with the Pinckneys and Kandyce Friday morning, I am so excited. It is still hard to believe why they would include me this summer. I really need to be thinking and praying through all the details involving India and the possibility of China too.

Another thing that is looming over me is college. I know that I still have a few months to apply, but I am so confused. Currently I have no direction and no feel for where I should even look. I just need to know there is hope for someone like me!

The final thing that I need to work out is finishing this year strong. I have no energy and motivation right now. I know that I have just a few more weeks and I'll be done with Jr. year, but I just feel like there is so much more that has to be done.

Random things I want to accomplish before 2010 (in no particular order):

1.) Go to India! : )

2.) Visit colleges and apply. . . oh yeah, and get in!

3.) Finish 2008-2009 school year strong

4.) Take a belly, hip-hop, and/or ballet class @ Dance Davidson (maybe?)

5.) Learn to rock-climb

6. ) Begin training for yoga and pilates licenses

7.) Take and teach art lessons

8.) Learn to knit

9.) Cook and eat healthy all the time

10.) Get sleep

11.) Learn to love and not judge

12.) Volunteer at Ada, Habitat, the Pines, and any other opportunity

13.) Figure out what is wrong with my knee and train for a half marathon

14.) Spend time with friends

15.) Listen and obey God above all else

I am so excited about living. Each day is new and I really need to realize that that alone is enough for me.

How is it possible that the NYT is always inspiring? Read most of the paper at work today and found myself in awe of every word and image. It is usually like that, but for some reason today was exceptional. Phootlery.com simply amazing. I feel like I would love a pair of these interchangeable shoes. I feel so sick. I've never died before but I think this is what it must feel like. I feel like I'm living Gregor Samsa's life from The Metamorphosis, and I most certainly don't want to go like he did!

Why? I don't know why! I'm going mad. I need to clear up my head and just disappear for a while. I can't concentrate on anything. I am constantly preoccupied by nothing and my attention span is as short as a little kids. Today French class, usually a favorite, was impossible. I had such a hard time paying any attention at all.

I don't know what is happening to me. All I know is that I need to get inspired and refocused. Life is just too short!

So yes, the weather played tricks on me today and made me feel like a fool. I longed for a drastic change in the weather instead of this gloomy and gray environment. I think it actually did snow this morning, but that was only about two minutes more or less.

Work was dead b.c. no one was adventurous enough to walk around.

Yesterday, instead of going to Habitat w. S, we slept in, then went to coffee with Elisabeth. I'm thrilled she is home. Second to my own sisters, she is one of my favorite people to brag about.

After coffee, S went on a treasure hunt (?), and E and I went shopping (Goodwill first, then Northlake). I bought two pairs of shoes (flat brown lace-ups) and a pair of yoga pants at G'will and only a long gold necklace at the mall.

I'm beginning to dread this next week. . . First, S, E, M, M.C, Mom, K, and I are all going off sugar until Valentine's day, Second, I've been jealous and bitter towards every talented, beautiful, skinny, intelligent, or creative person I know or meet, and Third, School is gonna be rough and overwhelming.

Oh the nature! My family and I went on a day trip to Asheville today. The weather was glorious and it was great to see the Brock family again. We left this morning early, drove two plus hours, talked up a storm, went for a long hike without any specific destination in mind, got back in the car, went to see the Hylton family, then drove three and half hours home (thanks a lot traffic!).

S just send Andrew and I an inspirational e-mail about New Yrs. goals. . . I think that spending more time outdoors is on this list for all of us this year (and it should be every year).

S and I need to work on a trip this summer too . . . Don't know where or what or when. . . Dear, let us make that another goal for this year. . . GO SOMEWHERE!

I am so looking forward to our big bash on the 1st. What I most look forward to is dressing up in my new silk dress and heels, and meeting new people. Crazy, but I don't know a half of all the people coming Thursday.

I am so ready for Christmas. Although it has sprung upon us so soon, I am still ready for it. All I want to do is sit on the couch, read, eat, and dream. . .

Yesterday a group of us went to some big warehouse and helped fill and move hundreds of boxes with the police department in Charlotte. Maria, as always, was a pleasure to work with. It was a blast but today I am feeling the pain of all the moving. Seventy lbs or so is a bit much for a girl to carry multiple times. My back, legs, neck, and bum all ache.

Had a final class today, then worked at the bookstore for a few hours. I feel like I am getting sick and I need sleep more than anything right now. I was planning on getting up early and going to yoga tomorrow, but I am not so sure about that now. All I desire is sleep. Ally and Kate came over and hung out with us for the remainder of the afternoon.

That's right! I'm all better. Apparently I just like to overreact. My wallet and I were reunited! And I learned that everything always does happen for a reason. I can trust people again!

It has rained all day today. Why doesn't it just snow? It is freezing and it is a grey and gloomy out, it might as well just cover us in ice pellets.

I made a sad discovery this weekend- I could never make it as an artist. Yesterday I went to the National Portfolio day uptown. I realized that everyone is talented but me. Today just confirmed that. Went to Cannon and just like yesterday I felt both inspired and discouraged. Inspired to get better, but I still feel very discouraged. My art is nothing impressive but it does make me happy . . . at times.

After talking with Parsons, Memphis, NY School of the Arts, etc, at the Nat. Port. day yesterday I had to work uptown at the Beehive (from 12:00-5:00). I went to bed early since M, S, and I stayed up Saturday night watching the Soup, Jackass, and Never Back Down. We all fell asleep smiling.

It is a tragic day in my life. One of my greatest fears has become a reality. Yesterday, after Ada with S, I went to the gym. I had left my purse in a locker along with several other things piled on top, thinking nothing of it. I didn't realize my beautiful black alligator wallet that Kelsey got me was gone until this afternoon. I didn't have to go anywhere until this afternoon and it was then that I came to the conclusion it was gone for good. My eyes are red and blurry and I just feel sick. I feel like I lost so much. I no longer have a license, cash, credit/debit card, library card, gift cards, photos, Peruvian coins, etc. . . it is all gone now, even Maria and Kelly's prom picture! : ) And all of the money I earned these past few weeks went with it! Of course, most of it can be replaced (except the over $150 dollars worth of cash, which was stupid to carry around to begin with. . . ).

It could all be so much worse. I just really hate to think of that someone deliberately went through all of my belongings and took it from me. (I am actually insulted they didn't like my converses, sweater, jeans, lipstick, sunglasses, and tampons!)
I learned my lesson.

I need to be more realistic- Not everyone is good!

I just realized all my pictures are the opposite of how I wanted them to be. . . Oh well, I'm lazy. . . Starting with Sunday: I got up early, went to church, worked from 12:00-3:00, went to dance (we learned to tango , and had so much fun), and then to Realife.

I look so mad here but I promise I wasn't!

Saturday: Went to yoga at 9:00, ate an early lunch of berries (my favorite part of this whole week), acid washed some jeans and t-shirts, watched some GG, went to summit to study with S, then to babysit the neighbors. S came over around 11:00 that night and we cried our way through this.

I think that part of the reason they taste so good is b/c of how beautiful they are on the outside.

I just had a really bad day today. I still feel sick, look even sicker, and have had no fun today. Even though we laughed a lot today in class and I got to see Montse, I still feel like crap. Thankfully I have great friends and people who like me for who I am, yes, even when I act like this. I just felt like I could either bite someone's head off or drown myself in my own tears all day long . . . and I am sick of it. Enough!!! I am through with it, starting now.

Hope that I'll feel nicer and less unhappy tonight with M and Monste (After all, Montse came in all the way from FL!). Looking forward to the rest of today at least. We're going to Toast tonight for dinner then out to Dilworth Coffee to see S, then to DCPC at 10:00.

Had to work from 11:00-5:00 today. Even though I had to work so long on a sunday, I really loved life today! The town was all sparkly and so were my customers (good weather changes everyone's attitudes for the better). Favorite things of the day:

1.) the old woman in her late 70s with her white hair and neon converses!

2.) seeing beautiful people and beautiful families

3.) hanging with some of my faves last night and into this morning

4.) falling in love with some new british student who came into the store

5.) the fact that Nevin drove almost an hour RT to see me at work before he drove 5 hours back home

6.) Mr. Dixon (a weekly NYT buyer) . . . he gave me popcorn today just b/c I am apparently "a really good person" : )
